I know iCardSort is fairly pricy for the world of apps but the ability to create unlimited decks, shuffle decks, wirelessly beam and blast decks, and change the backgrounds makes it a steal. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been anything like iCardSort (free or paid). The closest thing I have seen is Popplet Lite (only for the iPad) and Flashcards* (Flashcardlet) for both. One will allow you to create “popples” that you can move around and the other will allow you to create flashcards. You might look into the online version of Quizlet. They have a Scatter game that works off of the computer and mobile devices and will allow students to match words: http://www.techchef4u.com/?p=3265
